DEFENSIVE DRIVING EDUCATION

Defensive driving means to predict and prevent a collision in spite of the actions and errors of others and the conditions arround you.

In this course you will receive training on how to Scan the road ahead, Identify hazards and changes, Predict that what might happen, Decide your defensive strategies and Execute them before you reach there.  You will be able to prevent collisions with the traffic, pedestrians, and bikes on the road ahead.

It is vital for a driver to be prepared and predict the undesirable situation in advance.  And therefore the driver should set defensive strategies in advance and execute them before they reach the troubled spot.  Here are the three steps to stay alert, gear up for the road ahead and prevent collisions:

Aim High:
Look up and far ahead, eyes lead time is 30 to 50 seconds.  Be prepared for the changes on the road ahead and respond accordingly.  Make sure that the wheels do not go ahead of your eyes.

Keep Eyes Moving:
Scan the road ahead and do not look at something for more than a second unless you are asking for a trouble.  Check the cross roads for crossing traffic and pedestrians, and keep track of the hazards.  Read traffic signs, instructions and markings. Also, use side vision to keep track of the hazards in the vacinities.

Get the Big Picture:
Check your mirrors at least every 5 seconds.  And check the rear view mirror even before you decelerate or before you touch the brake pedal.  Be aware of the blind spots arround your vehicle and check it before you steer to that direction.

IF YOU SHIFT TO DRIVE, YOUR EYES & BRAIN SHOULD NOT BE IN NEUTRAL.

Happy motoring and see you in the classroom.
